I like the expression when used informally - as with other old expressions there are a few different stories on the origin.

On Your Bike
There will be a lot of bike related fun to be had as part of the event.
Along with Chris Allen and Peter Cullen, I'll be playing a live soundtrack to 'The Wheels of Chance', a silent, black and white film from 1922.

The film will be shown on Sunday 4th September 2011 at 18.00 in the Waterfront Studio. More info to follow...

Rumble

I've started work with a percussionist.

We're using some DIY electronics.


I made a few contact mics which I attached to the jaws of plastic clamps with hot glue. I coated the piezo circuit in Plasti-Dip and glued a little foam to the other side of the jaw.


They're surprisingly responsive.

Le Bonheur 04

This is a track that was made to be remixed and used as the backing for improvisation as part of a live performance score to the film 'le bonheur'. The film has six parts with many mini movements in each.

Here's a short compilation of me playing with the VEC1070. It was made very quickly using my phone camera to capture + Pr to edit. I didn't prepare for the shoot, so you can see reflections from my living room.

The sound isn't live, it was added in Premiere before uploading; it's a solo noise jam from a few months ago using a feedback loop and some fuzz devices.
